A drummer vlog? Yeah, sounds cool! But what exactly is it about?
Glad you ask. 🙂
So in this article, I’m introducing you to my vlog. Or maybe better: Invite you to join the fun.
The Idea Behind My Drummer Vlog
Table Of Contents
I set up my English YouTube channel back in 2019. To start off, I uploaded regular drum covers.
However, I soon changed to doing drums only covers. They are there to be used freely in other musicians videos.
You know, doing collabs luckily is a big deal on YouTube and beyond.
I also did some drum solos and other cool ideas like doing drum (and cajon) duets with myself.
However, doing a drummer vlog was kind of scary in the beginning. That’s how it is:
Speaking in front of my camera really felt a little odd.
Actually, I really had a hard time recording these “speaking” videos.
I still have, but it’s WAY better now. So I really enjoy recording my vlogs.
And what was the idea behind them, you ask? Well, it’s actually stepping out of my comfort zone.
As a pro teacher and musician, I’m not scared of making music in front of anybody.
And yes, it was a strange feeling doing my first YouTube videos with me drumming.
After all, recording yourself is different tahn “just” being on stage or practicing the drums in your rehearsal room.
Recording vlogs felt like a step beyond that as well. This makes them a great choic for expanding my comfort zone.
What’s In For you?
Basically, I talk about stuff going through my mind. Sometimes, it’s drum or music related.
Sometimes, however, it’s not.
I remember doing a vlog about my tense muscles.
Don’t laugh, that’s a thing not only for drummers! 😀
After all, playing the kit is mental AND physical.
So yes, my drummer vlog is about things I consider worth talking about.
Maybe you enjoy them as well, feel inspired, or just want to have a good time with me.
Basically, that’s all for now. I don’t have certain topics on my schedule.
I just want to stay spontaneously with my drummer vlog. Perhaps this will change in the future. Idk.
But what I know is:
If you ever thought of uploading your own content to YouTube, give it a try.
I know it feels scary when you’re starting out something new. It’s the same with starting to play the drums.
But you get used to it. I did as well. So you will too.
Just get going. The rest will be a matter of time, fun and error. 😉
Cheers,
